Who Qualifies for VAT Relief

You may be eligible if you are buying equipment for personal use and the product is designed for someone with a chronic illness, disability or medical condition.

Eligibility Criteria

You can claim VAT relief if the following apply to you:

  • You have a long term illness, disability or medical condition
  • You are buying the product for your own use, or on behalf of someone who qualifies
  • The equipment is specifically designed to help with that condition or disability
  • The item is not for general everyday use by someone without a medical need
  • The purchase is for personal use, not for a business or organisation

VAT relief does not apply to temporary conditions or to products intended for general use without a clear medical purpose.

VAT relief is intended for people with long term conditions, which generally means a condition that:

  • has lasted, or is expected to last, at least 12 months
  • or is a lifelong condition

How to claim VAT relief

Claiming VAT relief is simple. On each product page, you will see two price options: VAT included and VAT exempt.

If you are eligible, select the VAT exempt option with the reduced price. A short form will then appear asking for a few details about your condition and how the product will be used.

Once completed, VAT will be removed from your order automatically.
